Treatment of urinary symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia

Tamsulosin 0.4mg

One daily after the same meal each day

May Cause hypotension. Not to be used if symptoms are less than three months duration. Not to be used by men suffering from postural hypotension, heart, renal or liver disease, uncontrolled diabetes, urinary incontinance or have had prostate surgery. Not for men who have cloudy or blood in urine or fever. Not if planning cataract surgery or who have blurred or cloudy vision not examined by a GP or optician.
Patient must see GP within six weeks of starting treatment.
